Stories of Hope

Know Your Blood Group, Saving Lives Tour.

The Foundation through its Research, identified the need to boost the health of persons in Cape Coast and its environs, particularly, the University of Cape Coast. Shortage of blood at the University of Cape Coast Hospital in emergency cases, often leaves students, relatives and loved ones of the patient stranded in the quest of searching for donors. Hence, the foundation embarked on a project with the core aim of organizing a free medical screening for all manner of patients and people to check and know their health status including Sickling, Hepatitis B, Sugar Level, HIV/AIDS, Malaria Tests with more focus on Blood Grouping and Hemoglobin Tests in the University of Cape Coast and its surroundings

The Vision is to have in place a data-base of voluntary donors who will assist patients in emergency cases. The Foundation occasionally collaborated with The Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Ewim Hospitals, Medical Personnel from UCC Hospital and the Foundations Medical Team to organize the blood screening and donation exercises on the University of Cape Coast Campus and catchment area. The exercise was a great success as over 5000 students were screened and more than 500 pints of blood was donated to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital. This blood donation campaign also caught the eyes of the University authorities and student body alike as the efforts of the CEO was recognized and awarded by the Student Body and other Organizations. Many lives were also saved through this exercise as most surrounding hospitals constantly keeps calling in for more of such campaigns to be done.

The Foundation is thus obliged to continue living up to its mandate of ensuring that hospitals within the Cape Coast Metropolis, other Metropolitans, Municipals and Districts Assemblies do not run out of blood. For this reason, the Foundation is putting itself in readiness to extend its projects to other communities in Ghana.
